First LCCA 2012 Community Meeting Is February 8. Refreshments will be served!

LCCA and the Blagden Alley & Naylor Court Association Joint Happy Hour Is Tuesday, March 6. Join the LCCA and Blagden Alley & Naylor Court Association leadership for this social hour celebrating the arrival of Tortino Restaurant in our neighborhood! Complimentary appetizers will be provided along with drink specials from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and make lots of new ones! Tortino is located at 1228 11th Street, N.W., between N and M Streets. We aren’t charging admission for this event but you must register (http://www.eventbrite.com/event/2370217384) in order to participate.

Notice of Board Vacancy and Special Election. We recently learned that LCCA Corresponding Secretary Shelby Thompson is leaving Washington for a new career opportunity. LCCA thanks Shelby for two notable years of service as corresponding secretary. At the February community meeting we will ask for nominations from the floor to fulfill Shelby’s remaining term, which ends December 31, 2012.

According to LCCA’s bylaws, the corresponding secretary “shall publish the association’s newsletter.” In the current decade, this translates to distributing periodic e-mail announcements (such as this one), providing updates to LoganCircle.org’s Web master, maintaining the association’s facebook presence and blog, using Twitter to update followers on the association’s activities, and exploring other strategies for getting the word out on Logan Circle and LCCA. Residents who are interested in the position should plan to attend the community meeting on February 8. Please contact Tim Christensen, tim.christensen@logancircle.org, if you are interested in this position.

We look forward to seeing you at all LCCA-sponsored events! Questions? Contact Tim Christensen at 202-641-6934 or tim.christensen@logancircle.org.
