Today, Logan Circle is undergoing a renaissance. Fresh Fields has moved in at 15th and P and additional housing is sprouting up across the street and around the neighborhood. New restaurants have opened their doors on 14th Street, such as Sparky's Café and Hamburger Mary's. Community residents are watching economic development to the southeast, from Chinatown to the new convention center. It seems that on almost every block you can find at least one old Victorian brownstone being restored to something near its original grandeur. The Studio Theatre on 14th and P has received a complete facelift.. The National Park Service is embarking on a major renovation of the Logan Circle Park. Once Pierre Charles L'Enfant's "Special Place," briefly home to General John A. Logan, and backdrop to Duke Ellington's childhood--the only unaltered residential Victorian skyline in Washington DC has come a long way from its original incarnation as "Blodget's Wilderness."
